How do I volunteer?

Volunteer opportunities abound within the Longview Arboretum and Nature Center. Because Longview delights in good weather, great soil, and a growing number of retirees, we believe the LANC will become a popular place for folks to engage with nature and share their love of community by volunteering as either a gift shop assistant, tour guide, exhibit docent, party coordinator, event staff, gardener, golf cart driver, guest services, administration, or concessions. We invite volunteer registration at the Visitor and Nature Center, and encourage groups and individuals who'd like to participate to contact the Longview Arboretum director via email at info@longviewarboretum.org. Our Executive Director offers scheduled training opportunities for interested volunteers.

Here are some ways the professional and life skills of people who chose to volunteer can be utilized at the Longview Arboretum:
  • Working in the Gift Shop
  • Docents to the Visitor Center
  • Organizing Tours through the Arboretum
  • Managing Rented Event Spaces—from kid’s party rooms to corporate and wedding venues
  • Groundskeeping
  • Seasonal Event Programming
  • Golf Cart Drivers
  • Security
  • Facility Maintenance
  • Greeting Guests to the Arboretum
  • Front Office Staff
and many more!
